Two men were sitting around one of those big, round tables they have at the food court of a regional Heating and Air Conditioning trade show. Row after row of the latest in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) equipment was on display with happy, helpful sales people ready to hand out brochures and take orders for next season’s equipment.

Each of the men was eating lunch when a couple of HVAC technicians walked over to sit down, eyeing the lunch choices at the self-serve buffet line with great disdain.

“Probably a burger and a soda,” the taller of the two newcomers said to his shorter companion.

The two newcomers set their handbags full of sales materials on the table and went to retrieve their lunches from the food line before returning to the table with trays overflowing with burgers, French fries and condiments.

“Went a little heavy on the ketchup and mayo didn’t you, Frank?” the taller tech asked. “Hey! I like a lot of fry sauce on my French fries,” his smaller companion replied.

Everyone kept to themselves until one of the original two diners spoke up after downing a big gulp of bottled water.

“I don’t know, man” he said as he wiped his mouth off with his sleeve, “I’m just not finding what we want.”

His companion, seated beside him wearing a suit without a tie, looked over forlornly and nodded his head.

“Been installing their products for a long time,” came the answer from the taller tech. “Recommended them on pretty much every project I’ve worked on. It’s a no-brainer really.”

“What’s a no brainer?” the suit asked with a frown.

“Best prices, best products, all the accessories in one place...yeah, a no-brainer,” the taller man said as he looked for a garbage can to ditch his tray full of empty paper plates and cups.

The two men looked at each other with knowing smiles. The suit wrote something down on a notepad he pulled out of his pocket.
